Import/Wholesale Distributor is looking for a Class-B CDL Delivery Driver to join its team.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to do the following:
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and good time management skills.
- Assist warehouse team and customers with the loading and unloading of materials.
- Ensure timely and successful completion of deliveries.
- Full-time schedule with the ability to work occasional longer shifts and overnight travel as needed.
- Follow federal and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
- Demonstrate proper driving habits.
- Maintain proper paperwork and accurate electronic logbook.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Driving and operating a variety of commercial vehicles.
- Operate forklift and other hand tools.
- Basic math and organization skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Safety conscious.
- Familiarity with primary roads and neighborhoods and ability to use GPS navigational devices.
- Able to safely perform manual physical tasks such as lift 40-60 pounds on daily basis; occasionally lift 80-100 pounds.
- Able to effectively communicate in English. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Education and/or Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid and current state driver’s license - CDL Class B with air brakes.
- Two (2) or more years previous commercial driving experience.
- Maintain a current and valid DOT physical card.
- Must pass DOT drug test
- Must pass a background check and motor vehicle report
- Must provide valid Medical Card
- Must pass basic physical test
- Must provide valid CDL
- Forklift experience; Certified Forklift Operator preferred.
