Medical Officer (Continual Posting)

Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for full-time Medical Officers(LVN, CMA - Certified Medical Assistant) in the Bastrop County Jail.

• Providesnursing services, treatments and diagnostic and preventive procedures appropriate for inmatecare and safety.
• Interprets physician’s orders, formulates and implements nursing care plansconsistent with physician’s established protocols and evaluates inmate care issuesrelated to all health/mental health issues.
• Administers prescribed medications; assistsphysician with sick call; checks and records vital signs.
• Applies surgical dressings andbandages; performs routine medical procedures and provides emergency first aid care.
• Maintains accurate and complete medical records and performs related duties as required.
• Works under the general supervision of the Medical Supervisor.

Starting Rate of Pay: $29.85/Hourly - $65,194.00/Annually

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an LVN certifiedby the appropriate State of Texas agency or as a certified CMA (Certified Medical Assistant.)
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Jailers License through the Texas Commission onLaw Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).
• Must possess a high schooldiploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.
• Hiring process includes aptitude testingand a full background check
