Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations supporting the Controller. Ensure accurate financial reporting and supporting asset-intensive rental operations. This role requires strong knowledge of revenue recognition, fixed asset accounting, and cost tracking in a high-volume, service-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

• Assist and prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Analyze variances and provide actionable insights to management

Revenue

• Review revenue recognition for rental contracts, service agreements, and project-based work
• Monitor utilization-based billing and ensure accuracy of rental income
• Track and allocate direct and indirect costs across jobs, regions, and business units

Fixed Assets & Inventory

• Assist and reconcile fixed asset module (rental fleet, tools, equipment)
• Oversee depreciation schedules and capital expenditure tracking
• Partner with operations to ensure accurate asset tagging, transfers, and disposals
• Monitor inventory levels, obsolescence, and cycle counts

Accounts Receivable & Cash Flow

• Support AR oversight, including aging analysis and collections strategy
• Work with operations and sales to resolve billing discrepancies
• Assist in managing cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Maintain internal controls and support audit processes (internal & external)
• Assist with tax reporting, including sales/use tax and property tax for equipment

Process Improvement

• Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes and systems
• Support ERP implementation

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 58+ years of accounting experience (oilfield services, rental, or industrial services preferred)
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and fixed asset accounting
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
