Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and elderly demographics using both standardized tests and in-the-moment observation.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that effectively cater to immediate objectives as well as long-standing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy aimed at a range of issues, including language deficits, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with occupational and physical therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate unified treatment approaches.
  • Provide essential education to patients and families, ensuring sustained progress even beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to maintain a continuum of care throughout the recovery process.
  • Keep meticulous documentation in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Remain engaged with the latest developments in the field through continuous professional education and interactions with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of joining.

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies applicable to all age groups, demonstrating a thorough comprehension of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary health care teams.
  • Flexibility to modify therapy methodologies to respect and address diverse cultural and language needs.
  • Sound clinical judgment complemented by robust problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with the use of electronic medical records and documentation processes.
