Quality Manager Or Quality LeadLocation: Poway, CAJob Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-exempt (hourly), In-PersonHours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM PSTDepartment: QualityReports To: General ManagerAbout the Role:The Quality Manager oversees all quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. This role leads the quality team, manages audits, drives continuous improvement, and ensures that products meet the highest standards of precision and reliability standards. The purpose of this position is to support the Quality Departments ability to achieve its goals. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality department meets AMT quality and business objectives and complies with AS9100 standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Quality Department, including inspectors and quality staff.Maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and customer requirements.Oversee internal, customer, and third-party audits.Manage nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.Develop and maintain inspection plans, documentation, and quality procedures.Collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership to resolve quality issues.Monitor and report quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives.Ensure calibration of inspection equipment and proper use of metrology tools.Support customer communication regarding quality concerns and documentation.Comply with all Advanced Machining and Tooling policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:5+ years of quality leadership experience in aerospace, defense, or precision machining.Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and related industry standards.Experience with CMMs, GD&T, inspection tools, and machining processes.Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement.Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Nice to Have:Bachelor's degree in engineering.Knowledge of non-destructive testing, metal finish processes and heat treatment processesWorking knowledge of CNC machining, tool, fixture, work-holding and die design.Experience in a growing business.Total Rewards Package:Medical CoverageDental CoverageVision Coverage10 days paid vacation annually5 days paid sick leave annually401K Plan with matching12 Paid HolidaysAdditional Benefits:Flexible spending accountLife insuranceParental leaveProfessional development assistanceEmployee Assistance ProgramWork Authorization/Security Clearance:The company requires access to information or technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other US government security regulations.
