RN - Emergency Department Acute Care
Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Department care. This role involves providing compassionate, high-quality nursing services in a critical access hospital setting with a Level IV trauma designation. You will work under the guidance of the Emergency Department Director, utilizing your nursing expertise and independent judgment to deliver excellent patient care.
Job Summary
As an ED RN, you will administer medications and treatments, assist providers during examinations, and ensure accurate documentation of patient care. Your role is vital in promoting continuity and excellence of care by collaborating effectively with physicians and healthcare team members. You will develop individualized care plans, maintain fiscal responsibility, and uphold legal and ethical standards in nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
- Provide timely and accurate information to healthcare providers.
- Assess, care for, and document patient conditions using the nursing process.
- Prepare equipment and assist with patient treatments and examinations.
- Develop patient-specific care plans within 24 hours of admission.
- Maintain compliance with nursing regulations and institutional policies.
- Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training.
- Engage in teamwork and foster a culture of trust and integrity.
Education and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of one year of emergency room nursing experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current and unrestricted nursing license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications required.
- TNCC certification required within six months of hire.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.
- Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles.
- Respect for patient privacy and adherence to HIPAA standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work efficiently.
Work Schedule
This is a 0.9 FTE position with shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, working 12-hour shifts within a 40-hour workweek.
