Company Overview Cool Creations is a fruit and vegetable production company offering sliced and diced options in various container sizes. It is a sister company of C&C Produce, which has operated the Midwest’s largest produce warehouse in North Kansas City since 1992. Cool Creations delivers fresh produce to schools, restaurants, grocery stores, distribution centers, and healthcare facilities. Position Summary The Maintenance Technician supports the daily operation of the facility by completing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and performing facility repairs. The role ensures all machinery, systems, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Essential Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on all facility equipment and systems. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation issues. Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment, parts, and components as needed. Conduct electrical system testing, including continuity and wiring inspections. Complete general facility repairs including carpentry, plumbing, welding, fabrication (metal/plastic), and basic construction work. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment as part of daily pre‑operation and shutdown procedures. Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and work orders to complete maintenance tasks correctly. Perform daily pre‑operational equipment checks and document findings. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs. Follow all C&C Produce safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and facility policies. Support emergency maintenance during unplanned equipment failure or facility issues. Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a warehouse, food distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of PLC systems, hydraulics, electrical components, and automation. Working knowledge of general maintenance processes and procedures. High school diploma or GED required. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities. Strong attention to safety, detail, and documentation. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activity including standing, bending, climbing, and kneeling. Valid driver’s license. Technical certification in HVAC, Building Maintenance Technology, or related field preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. Working Conditions And Physical Demands The position requires travel to customer sites, company facilities, and industry events.
