Job Details Job ID: 375688 Location: Twin Cities Job Family: Supplemental Employee Full/Part Time: Part-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Job Code: 0008 Employee Class: Civil Service About the Job We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Minnesota Center for Prion Research & Outreach (MNPRO) for a temporary research appointment. The successful candidate will: Assist with nanopore sequencing experiments Curate molecular data within lab and MSI servers Help write and/or submit peer-reviewed publications Prepare and submit sequence data to NCBI. This role is designed for a researcher with demonstrated experience in nanopore sequencing and bioinformatics, direct experience submitting sequence data to NCBI, and prior experience working within a BSL2 molecular lab. Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials. Required Qualifications PhD in molecular biology or related field Leading author or co-author of a minimum of 5 peer-reviewed publications Experience with nanopore sequencing and bioinformatics Experience submitting sequence data to NCBI Experience working within a BSL2 molecular lab About the Department Minnesota Center for Prion Research & Outreach (MNPRO) mnpro.umn.edu Pay and Benefits Pay Rate: $34.70/hr Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
