Pharmacy Technician III Certified IV Ambulatory

The Pharmacy Technician III Certified IV Ambulatory performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflow, inventory, billing, and other complex pharmacy processes. Additionally, they have ownership of a specialty area.

Essential Job Functions:

• Compounds hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, evaluates for accuracy.
• Documents all tasks in Simplify, including daily and weekly cleaning.
• Assists pharmacists in medication preparation by preparing, labeling, and organizing prescriptions.
• Assists with inventory maintenance.
• Maintains pharmacy workflow including ordering and receiving drugs and supplies.
• Serves as mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.
• Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Required: 5 years.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:

• Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
