Java Technical Lead
Location: Pittsburgh, PA | Dallas, TX | Strongsville, OH | Phoenix, AZ Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Java development experience, technical leadership skills, and the ability to guide development teams while working closely with business and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance application architectures.
- Review code, establish development standards, and ensure code quality.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support project planning.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases as required.
- Support CI/CD, cloud deployments, and DevOps practices.
- Ensure applications meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development.
- Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Experience with REST APIs, Hibernate/JPA, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of multithreading, design patterns, and data structures.
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on technical leader who can balance architecture, coding, team leadership, and delivery, while driving best practices across the development lifecycle.
