Physical Therapist

Employee Type: Regular; Work Shift: Day – 8 hour shift (United States of America). Summary Physical Therapist – Outpatient. Provide comprehensive therapeutic services in an interdisciplinary environment, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and documentation. Focus on restoring movement, strength, and functional ability to improve quality of life for patients. Key Responsibilities Review physician’s referral, patient’s condition, medical history, and submitted medical records to determine required PT treatment. Plan and prepare written treatment program based on patient evaluation and incorporate proper interventions to improve daily task performance, reduce pain, ambulation, strength, and mobility. Evaluate patients’ functional ability through standardized tests; measure strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and level of independence; record findings to develop treatment programs. Develop treatment plans with specific goals and tasks. Administer treatments involving physical agents such as cold packs, contrast baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, iontophoresis, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound machines. Evaluate effect of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments for maximum benefit. Record treatment, responses, and progress in electronic medical record; prepare reports per licensure, provider, or insurance recommendations. Instruct patient and family in at‑home treatment procedures. Complete documentation per clinical/department guidelines and meet monthly department chart audit expectations. Promote/educate organizations about rehabilitation programs to referring physicians, healthcare providers, or co‑workers by performing in‑services and/or marketing activities. Reduce cancel/no‑show rates to improve quality of care and patient outcomes. Achieve the established average monthly patient care productivity metric. Handle and deliver medications based on job requirements in assigned facility. Complete other duties as assigned and demonstrate accountability for program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred if obtained prior to 2016. Doctoral Degree preferred if obtained after 2016. Licenses and Certifications Physical Therapist – South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (required). Basic Life Support Certified – American Heart Association within 30 days (required). Physical Demand Medium‑Heavy Physical Demand.
