Physician Assistant Queens, New York Hospitalist Job

• Hospital-employed position
• Join an established inpatient internal medicine / hospitalist team
• Inpatient setting
• Adult patient population
• Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic testing
• Prescribe medications and therapies per hospital protocol
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and patient handoffs
• Assist with discharge planning, medication reconciliation, patient education, and follow-up coordination
• Perform minor bedside procedures as privileged
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Orientation consists of approximately 6-8 weeks, primarily daytime 8-hour shifts
• Following orientation, transition to permanent schedule:
• 7:00p-7:30a
• Twelve-hour night shifts
• Three weekend shifts required each month
• One to two years of inpatient physician assistant experience preferred
• Experience in hospital medicine or internal medicine preferred
• Fast-paced, collaborative practice environment
• Credentialing timeframe is approximately 2-3 months
