Since the acquisition of the technology, Siemens has been investing heavily in research and development and winning key customer engagements to bring this exciting tool to market. To capitalize on our investments, we're expanding our field team in the United States, further developing an excellent, experienced and established team that stretches from coast to coast. This team is adding freshly graduated talent, coordinating with our rapidly expanding Centre of Excellence in Canada, and tasked with the complex task of bringing this tool to market, developing our talent to support it, and providing the foundation for expansion as we build on our success. You can be part of this growth. The Job Siemens EDA is looking for an experienced Place & Route user or Applications Engineer to play a critical role in our U.S.-based field team. You will be a key technologist on the team, leading engagements with tier‑1 customers, owning critical customer relationships, leading – by example and through training – our junior engineers, and ensuring technical and sales success. You will report to an experienced EDA manager in Canada who will be dedicated to your success and the success of the team. Together with your colleagues and management team, you will be a key player in the success of our team, our business, and our customers. As an AE, you will be the primary link between the customer, the sales team, and R&D, but this role will require even more of you. Aprisa is a rapidly growing product so there won't be an established lane for you. You’ll work closely with a highly dynamic team, innovating on business processes and filling holes where needed. You’ll interact regularly with marketing, R&D, sales, technical support, customer experience, and many different customer stakeholders. The job has flexible hours and does not require overtime. You will meet customer expectations by working as part of a team, not as a hero. When you must shift your time to work with European or Pacific‑Rim/Indian stakeholders, you’ll be able to take corresponding time in lieu. The hours are flexible to accommodate family and personal commitments, but you may need to be available for communications outside normal working periods. Face‑to‑face time with our customers and the team will be important, and you’ll also be welcome to work some days at home. You’ll need to travel to meet customers and colleagues as required. Who You Are Superb communication skills and high emotional intelligence, with an ability to navigate different frames of reference among stakeholders such as R&D or account teams during engagements covering complex technical and business topics. Customer‑focused while maintaining awareness of how business ROI informs technical engagements; you may have had to lobby for resources to meet support standards or choose not to engage on some opportunities. Ownership of challenges, finding solutions even when it might mean leaving your lane; you can easily provide examples. Highly organized, valuing documentation and communication of what you and your colleagues are doing, and seeing project management as a critical skill in ensuring that complex customer interactions are well‑executed. Flexible and eager to learn new things, grounded in experiences that match the challenging role you are about to take on. What You’ve Done At least a bachelor’s degree in EE, CE, EP, CS, or VLSI and over five years of industry experience. Strong understanding and working experience with Innovus, IC Compiler I/II, Aprisa, and/or Nitro‑SoC. Understanding of RTL to GDS flows at advanced nodes and hands‑on experience with IC design tape‑outs or P&R evaluations/benchmarking, including meeting PPA and TTR goals. Experience in floor planning, placement, clock‑tree synthesis, routing, signal & power integrity, and static timing processes; able to teach these topics without much preparation. Expert‑level scripting skills (TCL, command line UNIX) and a good understanding of Verilog and UPF data formats. Siemens has several offices in California, including Fremont (soon moving to Santa Clara) and San Diego. This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Pay & Benefits Pay range: $162,100 – $308,000 annually with a target incentive of 20% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
