About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an ambitious, AI-driven biotechnology company seeking a visionary Chief of AI to define and lead its artificial intelligence strategy.

This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a world-class AI organisation at the intersection of machine learning, computational biology, and drug discovery. The successful candidate will set the technical vision, shape the research roadmap, and lead the development of advanced AI systems that enable new approaches to understanding biology and creating medicines.

The role requires both scientific depth and executive leadership: someone who can inspire exceptional technical talent, partner effectively with biology and drug‑development leaders, and translate frontier research into high‑impact capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and deliver the company’s AI strategy alongside executive and scientific leadership
• Build and lead a high‑performing AI, machine-learning, and computational science team
• Define the AI roadmap and develop scalable platforms for biological discovery and therapeutic development
• Evaluate emerging technologies, partnerships, and opportunities across AI and life sciences
• Translate research into practical, high‑impact scientific and business outcomes
• Drive collaboration across AI, biology, engineering, and drug‑development teams
• Represent the company externally and help shape its long‑term scientific and technical vision

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in AI, machine learning, computational biology, or a related field
• Senior leadership experience in AI, ideally within biotech, life sciences, or healthcare
• Deep expertise in modern ML, including generative AI, foundation models, and large‑scale training
• Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing technical teams
• Track record of applying AI to complex scientific or commercial challenges
• Experience translating research into scalable products or platforms
• Strong executive communication and cross‑functional leadership skills
• Notable publications, patents, products, or industry contributions preferred
