The Test Engineering positions support the development and modernization of GCCS‑J by executing test plans, developing automated tests, validating system functionality, and ensuring quality across multiple product areas. GCCS‑J is the DoD’s Joint Command and Control system of record, delivering a fused, real‑time battlespace picture to commanders and warfighters. The modernization effort focuses on cloud‑native architecture, microservices, enhanced data integration, improved user experience, and alignment with JADC2 objectives. Location: Newport News, VA – On-site Full-Time Required This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3, depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment. Key Responsibilities Test Planning • Contribute to test plans and procedures. • Identify test cases for new features. Test Execution • Execute manual and automated tests. • Validate APIs, microservices, and UI components. Agile Support • Participate in Sprint ceremonies. • Validate acceptance criteria. Documentation • Log defects and track resolutions. • Maintain test artifacts. Collaboration • Work with developers and product owners. • Support integration testing. Basic Qualifications Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience Experience with Agile/Scrum. Familiarity with Linux/UNIX. Experience testing distributed systems and APIs. Experience with GCCS‑J or Joint C2 systems or similar program/system Active Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience with GCCS‑J or Joint C2 systems. System Administrator knowledge of Linux. Knowledge of geospatial or intelligence data. Experience with CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with DISA processes. Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $141,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
