Mental Health Therapist

$70,000 - $85,000 / year CoreCivic – Our mental health teams make lasting changes in the lives of offenders, setting the standards of care in the industry. The Mental Health Coordinator will plan and provide non‑medical clinical mental health services within the facility. Responsibilities Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates. Provide treatment to inmates by developing, implementing and modifying individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning. Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatment and activities used for individuals in caseload. Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions to address the needs of inmates. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or a related clinical area. Five (5) years of clinical experience, including two (2) years in a comparable position, is required. Hold appropriate certification or licensing in the state of practice (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT). A valid driver’s license is preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute. Minimum age requirement: at least 20 years of age.
