Data Engineer (AI / LLM) – Miami (Hybrid) – up to $190,000

I'm partnering with fast-growing, VC-backed tech companies across Miami that are building AI into their products, and I'm speaking with data engineers who want to work on the data infrastructure behind LLM-powered features.

What you'll be doing

\n

\n
• Designing and building scalable data pipelines that feed AI and LLM-powered products
\n
• Building retrieval pipelines (RAG), including document processing, chunking, embeddings and vector search
\n
• Preparing and maintaining high-quality datasets for model fine-tuning, evaluation and monitoring
\n
• Owning data quality, reliability and governance across the platform
\n
• Working closely with ML engineers, product and backend teams to take AI features from prototype to production
\n

What we're looking for

\n

\n
• 3+ years as a Data Engineer, ideally at a high-growth tech company
\n
• Strong Python and SQL
\n
• Hands-on with modern data tooling such as dbt, Airflow or Spark, and a warehouse like Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks
\n
• Cloud experience (AWS or GCP)
\n
• Practical experience with LLM applications: working with LLM APIs, embeddings and vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate or pgvector
\n
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, model evaluation or streaming data (Kafka) is a plus
\n
