Assistant Dietary Manager - Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation

Job Summary

Live Well Healthcare Solutions is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Danville, Pennsylvania. As an Assistant Dietary Manager, you will support the Dietary Manager in overseeing daily food-service operations, ensuring the department maintains standards of excellence in food quality, safety, and regulatory compliance while providing direct leadership to the dietary team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Dietary Manager in managing daily food-service operations, including team support, scheduling, and collaboration with facility staff, physicians, consultants, and vendors.

• Ensure department records are maintained accurately, including personnel, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.

• Inspect meals to ensure they meet standards for appearance, palatability, temperature, and serving times.

• Produce food according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and therapeutic diet requirements.

• Manage the preparation and service of special nourishments and supplemental feedings.

• Oversee the safe receiving, storage, and preparation of food using HACCP Guidelines.

• Ensure staff follow proper sanitation practices and maintain equipment according to cleaning schedules.

• Process new diet orders and changes, keeping diet cards and residents' nutritional profiles updated.

• Assist the Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian (RD) in developing dietary plans and completing assigned MDS sections.

• Review and document nutritional concerns to improve client health and eating function.

Requirements

• High School Diploma

• Post-secondary undergraduate education preferred, but not required

• Prior experience in healthcare food service or a supervisory role is highly desired
