Overview

Brightstar Lottery is seeking a Power BI Developer to join our Data & Insights team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, paginated reports, and semantic models that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and other technology partners to translate reporting requirements into scalable, high-quality business intelligence solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in Power BI with analytical problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering impactful reporting and visualization solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports that support operational and strategic business objectives.
• Create intuitive visualizations, KPIs, metrics, and reporting experiences that effectively communicate business insights.
• Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, including relationships, hierarchies, calculations, and business metrics.
• Build DAX measures, calculated columns, and reusable business logic to support reporting and analytics needs.
• Optimize report and semantic model performance, scalability, usability, and accessibility.
• Perform data validation, quality assurance testing, and troubleshooting to ensure reporting accuracy and reliability.Investigate and resolve report, dataset, and data refresh issues.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical reporting solutions.
• Participate in user acceptance testing, report validation, and deployment activities.
• Provide support and guidance to end users on reporting functionality and data interpretation.
• Adhere to established data governance, security, development, testing, and deployment standards.
• Participate in peer reviews, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Stay current on Power BI capabilities, analytics technologies, and industry best practices.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analytics, or Power BI development.
• Hands-on experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and star schema design principles.
• Experience developing DAX calculations, measures, and business metrics.
• Knowledge of data visualization best practices and user-centered report design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and managing Power BI semantic models.
• Familiarity with Analysis Services concepts.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Advanced experience with Power Query and DAX optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with source control practices and software development lifecycle processes.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and modern analytics architectures.
• Microsoft Power BI certification or a willingness to pursue certification.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $55,631 - $98,467. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
