Materials Planner

Responsibilities:

Review and evaluate supply and demand forecasts.

Manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring future demands are met.

Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks in the supply chain process.

Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.

Confer with supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.

Support the revision of production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.

Confer with vendors and internal customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.

Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.

Contact suppliers to verify shipment details.

Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, or changes to cost estimates.

Implement innovative strategies to improve supply chain processes.

Monitor and analyze current market conditions and forecasts.

Other duties as deemed required.

Education & Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

BS/BA in logistics, business analytics, or relevant field; professional certification (e.g. APICS/CPIM) is preferred.

5+ years experience as a Materials Planner, Inventory Planner or similar role, preferred.

Experience in data mining, analysis and reporting.

Familiarity with supply chain processes and inventory management systems.

Working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases, and ERP systems (JDE).

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Spanish speaking preferred.

Analytical mind with business acumen.

Work Environment: Office setting. Monday Friday 8am-5pm
