Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs and physician direction.
• Utilize clinical reasoning to establish appropriate goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing and ordering, patient and family training, home exercise program issuance, and planning for continuing services.
• Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions effectively; demonstrate flexibility in caseload management including coverage responsibilities.
• Complete thorough and timely medical record documentation including daily notes, goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Participate in student programs as assigned, providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist licensure in the state of Florida.
• Adherence to the Florida State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
• Ability to complete documentation in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Demonstrated competency in skills necessary to perform job functions in accordance with the population served.
• Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and practices.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working within an inpatient or acute rehabilitation setting.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary team collaboration and discharge planning processes.
• Active involvement in continuing education and professional development activities.
