Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a keen interest in Power Delivery and Renewables projects to join our dynamic Power team. As a pivotal member, you will engage in the daily execution of electrical engineering and design work for power delivery facilities, including substations, solar, battery storage, and hydropower stations. You will have the opportunity to cross-train in various areas such as substation, power generation, and distribution.

• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium, and High Voltage).
• Prepare calculations, design sketches, and redline drawings.
• Collaborate with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in line with national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications.
• Develop design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
• Conduct site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• EIT Certification or plan to take the FE exam.
• Experience in power delivery, electrical engineering, and substation design.

• Experience with substations.
• Electric utility experience.
• Internship experience supporting utility or substation projects.

The position is based in an engineering office located in Lexington, Kentucky, with approximately 100 engineers from various disciplines. While the preferred location is in Lexington, there is potential for one or two days of remote work from home during the six-month consulting period after acclimating to the role for the right candidate. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
