Operations Manager

Operations Manager – Microwave Component Manufacturing Position Overview The Operations Manager oversees day‑to‑day production, supply chain, quality, and facility operations for a small manufacturer specializing in microwave components (e.g., filters, couplers, amplifiers, waveguide assemblies). This role ensures that products are built to specification, delivered on time, and produced within cost targets while maintaining a safe, efficient, and continuously improving work environment. Key Responsibilities Production Management — Plan, schedule, and oversee daily manufacturing activities, ensuring efficient workflow across machining, assembly, testing, and packaging. Quality Assurance — Maintain and enforce quality standards for RF/microwave components; collaborate with engineering on root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. Supply Chain & Inventory — Manage purchasing, vendor relationships, incoming inspection, and inventory levels for raw materials, electronic components, and machined parts. Process Improvement — Identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance product reliability. Team Leadership — Supervise production staff, set performance expectations, provide training, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Equipment & Facility Oversight — Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of specialized equipment (e.g., network analyzers, CNC machines, soldering stations). Safety & Compliance — Uphold OSHA standards, maintain safety protocols, and ensure compliance with industry and customer requirements. Cross‑Functional Coordination — Work closely with engineering, sales, and customer service to support new product introductions, custom builds, and delivery commitments. Reporting & Metrics — Track KPIs such as yield, on‑time delivery, scrap rates, labor efficiency, and inventory accuracy; provide regular operational updates to leadership. Qualifications Experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in electronics, RF/microwave components, aerospace, or precision machining. Strong understanding of production workflows, quality systems, and supply chain management. Familiarity with RF/microwave test equipment and basic measurement concepts (preferred, not required). Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop small teams. Solid analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard manufacturing software tools. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
