Senior Inventory Control Specialist

Compensation: Competitive salary + annual bonus Work Model: Monday - Friday required This position is based at an active mine site and requires daily onsite presence. Work conditions may include uneven terrain, climbing ladders, navigating steps, and exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, rain, or mud. Regular in-person attendance consistent with the Company's established work schedule is an essential function of this position to facilitate effective collaboration, communication, and business operations. Position Summary The Senior Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the accuracy, organization, and availability of maintenance spare parts, materials, and consumables at Oil-Dri’s Ochlocknee facility. This hands-on role helps ensure maintenance technicians and production teams have the right parts available to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. The position manages inventory transactions, parts-room activities, purchasing support, vendor coordination, and improvement projects that reduce downtime and strengthen inventory performance. The Opportunity Own the accuracy and organization of a maintenance parts storeroom Support maintenance technicians and production personnel in an active industrial environment Help ensure critical spare parts are available for planned and emergency work Work with vendors and purchasing to manage material availability and lead times Improve inventory processes, storeroom efficiency, and equipment reliability Gain hands-on experience with JDE and maintenance inventory systems Primary Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records and transactions within JDE Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts and excess inventory Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating discrepancies as needed Track critical spare parts and rebuildable inventory Receive, inspect, label, store, and issue maintenance parts and materials Maintain accurate item locations and keep the storeroom organized and audit-ready Support maintenance planners, supervisors, and technicians with planned and emergency work Research replacement parts and approved alternatives Generate purchase requisitions and communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules Follow up on outstanding orders and expedite critical materials Support inventory standardization, obsolete-material reduction, documentation, and 5S initiatives Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, maintenance support, and storeroom efficiency Success Measures Inventory accuracy Cycle-count completionReduced out-of-stock frequency Availability of critical spare parts Timely purchasing and order follow-up Reduction of obsolete inventory Responsive support for maintenance and operations Candidate Profile High school diploma or equivalent 3 years plus of experience in inventory control, maintenance storeroom operations, warehousing, or a related field Experience using an ERP, CMMS, or inventory-management system Knowledge of industrial maintenance parts, equipment, and materials Ability to read vendor catalogs, equipment manuals, and parts breakdowns Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Valid driver’s license Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move materials throughout the workday Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday in an active industrial and mine environment Preferred Experience Degree in business, supply chain, industrial maintenance, or a related field Experience with JDE, SAP, Maximo, or a similar system Experience in manufacturing, mining, processing, or another industrial environment Forklift certification or the ability to become certified Knowledge of inventory optimization, equipment reliability, and 5S practices Compensation and Benefits Annual bonus opportunity 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off and company holidays Career growth and professional development opportunities About Oil-Dri Oil-Dri Corporation of America is a leading specialty minerals manufacturer serving consumer and business-to-business markets.
