Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced, empathetic, and knowledgeable Assistant Manager to join our showroom team. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and medical supplies. In this role, you will be the face of Belmont Medical Supply, guiding patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to the right solutions, ensuring proper fits, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Consultations: Provide expert, empathetic guidance to customers looking for mobility aids (wheelchairs, scooters, rollators), seat lift chairs, bathroom safety items, and compression hosiery.
• Custom Fittings: Responsibly evaluate, measure, and fit individual items like cervical collars, insoles, compression garments, and braces to guarantee customer safety and comfort.
• Showroom Management: Keep the showroom organized, clean, and welcoming. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our inventory and assist with stock replenishment.
• Basic Troubleshooting & Intakes: Assist customers with inquiries regarding equipment usage and act as the first point of contact for equipment that may require repair or servicing.
• Administrative Accuracy: Seamlessly process retail sales, address customer inquiries over the phone, and accurately document order details.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Industry Experience: 1 to 2+ years of verified sales or retail experience specifically within the medical supply, home health, or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) industries.
• Product Knowledge: Familiarity with mobility equipment, daily living aids, wound care/medical supplies, and fitting protocols (e.g., compression hose, splints).
• Strong Interpersonal Skills: High level of patience, empathy, and active listening skills necessary for working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and stressed caregivers.
• Detail-Oriented: Excellent organizational skills to ensure custom orders and specific measurements are accurately recorded.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift up to 40 lbs to assist with assembling or demonstrating equipment like transport chairs or walkers.
