Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Workers’ Compensation Compliance Manager, the Research Program Specialist II independently plans and carries out quantitative and qualitative research methodology and techniques of major scope and complexity in the area of Independent Medical Review (IMR) and Independent Bill Review (IBR), and has responsibility to design and direct complex projects related to these areas of the workers’ compensation system.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Advance knowledge of research methodology and techniques.
• Knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and statutes relative to workers’ compensation.
• Knowledge of methods of statistical investigation.

• Methods for compiling and presenting complex data.
• Identify relationships and trends in order to forecast data.
• Utilize business intelligence software programs to query, validate, format, and organize structured and unstructured data.

• Ability to analyze and research complex statistical data.
• Ability to conduct statistical investigation for use in the resolution of multiple program related issues.
• Ability to gather, develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures to assemble and structure necessary data.
• Ability to provide consultative advice or support interpreting existing reports and data models.
• Ability analyze and evaluate the impact of changes to existing programs, procedures, business processes.
