Our client works with the Texas Reliability Entity (TRE), one of eight regional entities within the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) that coordinate to improve reliability of the bulk power grid. Job Description:

• The Application Developer designs, develops, implements, and maintains automation solutions that improve the reliability, consistency, security, and efficiency of software delivery and IT operations.
• This position serves as a technical resource for automation, DevOps, configuration management, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• The Software Automation Developer works across development, QA, infrastructure, operations, and business teams to identify processes that can be automated and to develop reusable solutions that enable teams to deliver and operate technology more effectively.
• The role is responsible for developing automation capabilities using Ansible Automation Platform and other industry-standard technologies, including automation for application deployment, infrastructure configuration, environment management, testing, verification, and operational processes.
• The Software Automation Developer develops automation as software: solutions are version controlled, tested, documented, reusable, maintainable, and designed to operate consistently across supported environments.
• This position also contributes to Client 's broader automation and DevOps strategy by establishing reusable patterns, improving engineering standards, sharing technical expertise, and helping teams adopt automation capabilities in accordance with the Client Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Knowledge and Skills

• Working knowledge of Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform.
• Working knowledge of Git and source-control practices.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Scripting experience with one or more of the following:
• Python
• PowerShell
• Bash
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Basic understanding of APIs and system integration.
• Familiarity with containers and container orchestration.
• Understanding of software development and testing fundamentals.
• Ability to document technical processes and procedures.
• 5 years of software development experience.

Preferred:

• Azure Cloud Development Experience

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience of 5+ years software development
