Restoration Technician

Restoration Coordinators are responsible for identifying and documenting property restoration requirements resulting from underground gas line replacement work performed by construction crews. This includes assessing affected properties, recording restoration needs, and uploading documentation using an iPad while on-site. Projects take place throughout Southeast Michigan, primarily in residential neighborhoods and along residential streets. Coordinators are assigned to different construction projects throughout the year and remain with each project until completion. In addition to documenting restoration requirements, Restoration Coordinators serve as a liaison between customers, restoration vendors, construction crews, and other stakeholders to help ensure restoration needs are communicated and addressed throughout the process. The role reports to a Gas Operations Supervisor. Schedule and Work Requirements Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week). Location: Various construction sites throughout Southeast Michigan. Overtime: May be required based on project needs. Transportation: Candidates must provide their own reliable transportation. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with the company’s travel and expense policy. Physical Requirements: Must be able to spend approximately 90% of the workday on their feet, including extensive walking throughout construction areas. Key Responsibilities: Identify and document property restoration needs resulting from underground gas line replacement projects. Use an iPad to record and upload property restoration requirements on-site. Monitor assigned construction projects and document restoration needs through project completion. Serve as a liaison between customers, restoration vendors, construction crews, and other stakeholders. Communicate restoration requirements, answer customer questions, and help coordinate the restoration process. Coordinate and communicate with inspectors from city, county, and Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) agencies as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and records of identified restoration needs. Perform basic mathematical calculations as required. Travel between assigned project locations throughout Southeast Michigan. Required Qualifications: Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid ability to travel between job sites; mileage reimbursement is provided according to company policy. Basic experience using an iPad and navigating the internet. Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including email, Excel, and Word. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with customers, contractors, field crews, and inspectors. Basic math skills. Ability to walk extensively and remain on their feet for approximately 90% of the workday. Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document property restoration requirements.
