Smartly is looking for a Business Analytics Intern to join our team for Fall 2026. This internship offers hands-on experience applying analytical skills to real business and customer challenges while working alongside members of our Business Analytics team.

You'll support a broad range of ongoing and ad hoc analytical projects, helping transform complex data into clear, actionable insights. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is naturally curious, comfortable working with data, and eager to explore how modern analytics and AI tools can help teams make better-informed decisions.

As a Business Analytics Intern, you will…

• Transform raw datasets into well-structured data models for analysis, reporting, and dashboarding
• Analyze complex customer and business datasets to identify actionable insights and opportunities to better serve our customers
• Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards used by teams across the organization
• Support ad hoc analytical requests and investigations
• Work with stakeholders to understand business questions and translate them into effective analytical approaches
• Use AI tools to improve the efficiency and quality of your analytical work
• Help explore ways for teams across Smartly to use AI to answer analytical questions more effectively
• Communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

We are looking for you if you…

• Are currently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative or analytical field
• Have strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Have experience working with SQL
• Are familiar with data modeling tools such as dbt or similar technologies—this is considered a strong advantage
• Have experience with Python or another programming language used for data analysis—this is beneficial but not required
• Are naturally curious and comfortable working with data
• Can think logically and work through ambiguous problems
• Are motivated to learn new tools, technologies, and analytical techniques
• Have an interest in AI and its applications within analytics
• Can communicate complex findings in a clear and accessible way

What you'll gain…

• Hands-on experience working as part of a Business Analytics team
• Experience preparing and modeling datasets for downstream analysis and reporting
• Exposure to SQL and modern analytics tools used to work with large, complex datasets
• Experience structuring analyses and translating data into actionable business insights
• Experience designing dashboards that clearly communicate key metrics and trends
• Practice partnering with stakeholders and translating business questions into analytical solutions
• Experience incorporating AI tools into analytical workflows
• An understanding of how AI can support self-service analytics across an organization

This internship will be approximately 30 hours per week from October 6 through December 17, 2026.
