Reporting location for applicant would be nearest to place of residence.Reporting Locations:Sacramento California Office: 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814Riverside California Office: 1955 Chicago Avenue, Suite 100, Riverside, CA 92507Under general supervision of the Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory), the Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) oversees the development and resolution of escalated environmental enforcement actions within the Waste Tire Enforcement Section which is responsible for implementing CalRecycle's statewide Waste Tire Enforcement Program. This Program seeks to manage and mitigate impacts of waste and used tires on public health and safety, and the environment by ensuring that waste tire facilities comply with tire permitting, storage, and movement laws, regulations, and state minimum standards.Beginning July 1, 2026, CalRecycle staff will be office-centered, requiring employees to report to the office at least four days per week. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the positions designated headquarter location, as reflected on the duty statement and at their own expense.You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.
