Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care Unit provides optimal patient care utilizing extensive knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the episode of care and provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems.
• Provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care with other professionals as necessary.
• Utilize a scientific knowledge base and pursue ongoing growth and learning.
• Engage families or significant others in the assessment and care process.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience required; Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred.
• Experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Must pass an ECG/Telemetry exam.
