As we expand, we are seeking an experienced IT contractor to implement a comprehensive security and systems setup , with a focus on Microsoft 365 and HIPAA compliance . The position is located mainly at our Colorado Springs location. Location: On-site/Hybrid; Colorado Springs and Pueblo Duration: Project-based with ongoing support opportunity Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $5,000 for initial setup, $750/month for basic support + hourly add-on This role focuses on initial infrastructure setup , security hardening, and long-term compliance readiness. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, HIPAA , and small business networking. Along with the ability to work independently and communicate clearly with non-technical users. Initial Setup ($5,000) Microsoft 365 Setup & Administration - Configure and secure the Microsoft 365 tenant, including email, Teams, and domain settings - Implement email security protocols - Set up mailboxes, user roles, and policies for signatures, retention, and access - Enable and enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP), encryption, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) - Confirm proper DNS setup Identity, Device, and Endpoint Management - Join devices to Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and apply Conditional Access policies - Enroll and manage devices using Microsoft Intune (MDM) - Deploy device security configurations including screen lock, encryption, software updates, app installations, and remote wipe capability - Implement strong authentication protocols and enforce password and compliance policies Network and Infrastructure Setup - Configure secure Wi-Fi networks for staff and guests using VLAN separation - Set up and secure a business-grade firewall - Connect and configure office hardware including printers, scanners, and workstations - Ensure secure access to EHR systems (e.g., TherapyNotes) and telehealth platforms HIPAA Security and Compliance - Ensure all systems, devices, and workflows comply with HIPAA technical safeguards - Set up secure messaging, texting, and email tools with encryption and access controls - Implement data protection policies to prevent unauthorized sharing of PHI - Develop and document IT security policies, including device management, acceptable use, backups, and disaster recovery Documentation and Staff Training - Create and maintain documentation of system configurations and standard operating procedures - Train staff on secure use of Microsoft 365 applications, password management, and HIPAA best practices - Provide onboarding and offboarding procedures for secure account and device transitions Ongoing Support ($750/month) - Provide remote/on-site IT support and respond to staff helpdesk requests - Monthly monitor system health and maintain compliance with security updates and policies - Support staff transitions, occasional training refreshers, and documentation updates Experience IT Support/administration HIPAA Compliance DLP Preferred TherapyNotes Comcast Business Phone + Alive5 Text Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Contract Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Milestone Psychiatry by 2x Get notified about new Information Specialist jobs in Greater Colorado Springs Area .
