Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting with mixed/shared acuity levels at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement as required skills for all RNs in this role
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and continuous IV paralytics
• Administer blood products, manage central lines, and support procedural sedation administration
• Provide care for CVA patients and maintain strict isolation precautions as indicated
• Float to other units when census warrants

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, IV insertion, management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and procedural sedation
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CVA patient management and isolation precaution protocols
• Familiarity with block scheduling in a travel or contract setting
• Minimal time-off requests preferred during assignment
