POWER ELECTRONICS ENGINEERHIGH POWER CONVERSION (kW MW)San Jose, CA (On-Site Only)COMPANYStep into a high-impact R&D role with a global leader in power electronics, energy infrastructure, and advanced conversion technologies.This organization is driving next-generation platforms including data center power architectures, containerized charging systems, and energy storage solutions.WHY THEY VALUE AND APPRECIATE THEIR EMPLOYEES• Work on cutting-edge MW-class power systems … not sustaining legacy products• Be part of a ground-up R&D team build with high visibility and impact• Collaborate globally across U.S., Europe, and Asia• Innovation-driven culture … minimal bureaucracy• Direct exposure to real-world, high-power engineering challenges• Influence platform-level design decisionsYOUR ROLE WITH THE COMPANYYou’ll be part of a newly forming R&D team, focused on building next-generation power conversion platforms that will shape the future of high-density, high-efficiency energy systems.Individual Contributor role focused on advanced development, prototyping, and platform R&D … not production support.Core focus: AC/DC, DC/DC, and HVDC/DC converters supporting data center and high-power infrastructure applications.Other Key Responsibilities:Advanced Development & Prototyping• Design and evaluate high-power conversion systems (kW MW)• Execute topology trade-offs, efficiency optimization, and thermal/EMI analysis• Perform hands-on lab bring-up, testing, and debugging• Develop prototype and reference designs (no production ownership)Technical Problem Solving & Escalation Support• Lead deep technical troubleshooting beyond FAE-level issues• Drive root-cause analysis, validation, and resolution strategies, advanced R&D tasks: calculations/simulations, deriving formulas, drawing waveforms.Customer-Facing Engineering• Engage directly with U.S.-based customers• Translate requirements into engineering direction and design improvements• Support evaluations with data-driven technical recommendations, tools like: MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice, Cadence Virtuoso and AllegroGlobal Collaboration• Partner with international R&D teams across Europe and Asia• Share findings and contribute to global platform developmentBACKGROUND PROFILE• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Power Electronics / Power Conversion preferred) • Hands-on experience with AC/DC, DC/DC, or inverter-based power systems• Strong foundation in lab validation, testing, debugging, and system-level optimizationPREFERRED (PLUS)• Bilingual (nice-to-have)ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILSCompensation: $180K – $200K Base + 20% BonusTravel: 20–25% … Europe and AsiaRelocation: Yes … North America candidates onlyVisa: H1B transfer supported, Green Card, US Citizen, TN VisaType: direct hire
