Description: This position requires a Charge Nurse in a step-down unit. The nurse will work the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. The nurse will be responsible for overseeing patient care and managing nursing staff. Patient ratios on this unit are 2:1. The unit cares for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Nurses will assist with central line insertions, chest tube insertions, and cardioversion procedures. Familiarity with ventilator management and cardiovascular telemetry is essential. The role also involves blood product administration and monitoring of cardiac drips. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. A commitment to patient safety and quality care is a priority in this position. Candidates should be prepared to work every third weekend. Floating to other departments may be required based on facility needs. This position does not require on-call hours.
