Press AssistantThe Press Assistant position supports press operations by performing essential support tasks, maintaining equipment cleanliness, assisting with material handling, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This role is crucial in maintaining efficient press operations and supporting the Press Operator in producing quality products. This entry-level position provides foundational experience in printing operations with opportunities for advancement through demonstrated competency and skill development. The role requires physical capability, attention to detail, and strong teamwork abilities. This is a night shift position. Monday-Thursday 7PM-7AM. Pay for this position is $19.00 per hour with a $2.50 premium for all hours worked between 7PM and 7AM.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport press operator with quality monitoring, machine efficiency optimization, and future job staging for changeoversPrepare and organize pre-setup materials such as sleeves, mandrels, anilox rolls, and inks for efficient job transitionsEnsure compliance with Food Safety standards and 5S methodology through proper housekeeping and workplace organizationMonitor and replenish operational supplies including inks, adhesives, and other consumables while maintaining inventory levelsExperienceManufacturing experience preferredRequired SkillsBasic mechanical aptitudeAbility to safely operate material handling equipmentBasic mathematical skills for measurements and calculationsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyStrong teamwork and communication skillsReliable attendance and punctualityStrong attention to detailBasic computer literacyMulti-tasking capabilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to learn and adapt to new proceduresAdditional RequirementsMust be 18 years of ageBackground check and drug screening requiredPhysical DemandsCapability to lift and move up to 50 poundsCapacity to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to climb, kneel, bend, reach, stoop and squatProficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skillsAbility to pass Ishihara color testAbility to climb ladders and stairs safelyAbility to work at heightsAbility to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)Ability to become certified in material handling equipmentWork ConditionsNoise levels above 80 dBOperation of complex machinerySolvents, fumes and inksVariable temperaturesPrintpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
