Metrologist

Seeking a Metrologist to support Manufacturing Engineering and Quality by performing precise dimensional measurements, analysis, and reporting for new and existing components. This role will focus on CMM programming, inspection method development, root cause analysis, and supporting product quality and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform precision measurement, inspection, analysis, and reporting activities to support manufacturing and quality initiatives Program and operate CMM equipment using Mitutoyo COSMOS Develop and validate inspection methods for new components and products Partner with Product Development, Supplier Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure designs are measurable and manufacturable Support root cause analysis efforts related to dimensional and tolerance issues Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and inspection documentation Utilize measuring instruments including optical comparators and vision systems Support quality improvement initiatives and help reduce reliance on external metrology vendors Qualifications Experience with CMM programming, specifically Mitutoyo COSMOS Hands‑on experience using precision measuring equipment including optical comparators and vision systems Strong understanding of dimensional analysis, tolerancing, and inspection methodologies Ability to support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing and quality issues Experience working independently in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering environment Strong documentation and communication skills Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of related metrology or manufacturing quality experience preferred Ability to identify trends, analyze data, and support process improvement initiatives #J-18808-Ljbffr
