Quality Assurance Supervisor responsible for overseeing sanitation operations, ensuring compliance with GMP, FDA, and HACCP standards, and driving continuous improvement in food safety. Leads a team of sanitation staff, develops SOPs, and supports internal and external audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily sanitation operations across all shifts, monitoring efficiency and implementing improvements.
- Assist Quality Manager with training and initiatives on quality, food safety, and sanitation.
- Develop and maintain Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) aligned with GMP and FDA regulations.
- Manage chemical inventory, ordering, and usage to optimize chemical utilization.
- Monitor employee adherence to GMPs, cleanliness, sanitation, and pest control; report noncompliance.
- Support SQF, customer, and internal audits; document audit findings and corrective actions.
- Train, develop, discipline, and evaluate sanitation staff; resolve personnel grievances.
- Develop, implement, and oversee environmental monitoring sampling plan and record trends.
- Investigate root causes of failures, complete deviation reports, and track corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain and revise Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) covering daily to annual cleaning tasks.
- Ensure maintenance and calibration of all sanitation equipment.
- Collaborate with production supervisors, leads, QA manager, and external vendors/contractors.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of documentation organization/handling experience in sanitation and environmental control in food manufacturing or similar industry.
- Experience with GMP, Allergen, and HACCP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe or similar document applications.
- Familiarity with internal office systems, documentation storage, retrieval, and archival processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective communication with internal and external customers.
- Ability to navigate Windows environment and PC-based systems.
- Knowledge of HACCP and GFSI requirements.
- Supervisory experience with hourly resources.
Preferred Skills:
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) strongly preferred.
