POSITION TITLE: School Counselor (Career Center Coordinator)



CURRENT ASSIGNMENT: Mexico High School



CERTIFICATION: Valid NYS School Counselor Certification



START DATE: September 2026


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid NYS School Counselor Certification
• Strong commitment to children
• Provide individual and group counseling to high school students
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with CTE programs, work-based learning, or post-secondary advising
• Knowledge of labor market trends, industry credentials, and graduation pathways
• Ability to support students with career exploration, pathway planning, and post-secondary transitions
• Strong commitment to establishing positive relationships with community agencies to support students and families
• Provide support to the Building/District TCIS and Crisis Response Teams
• Strong understanding of Social Emotional Learning and Multi-Tiered System of Supports
• Five years' experience working with secondary level students preferred
• Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Full time, probationary appointment
• 10-month position
• Salary and benefits as per the MACSFA contract
