We (an executive search firm) have been engaged to identify an entrepreneurial sales leader for a growing freight brokerage. This opportunity is for someone who knows the 3PL market, has built and led successful customer sales teams, and brings the drive to win new business and grow an organization.

The SVP of Customer Sales will lead a sales team and sales management, supported by a highly talented Account Management team. You will work closely with senior leadership to shape the growth strategy, develop the team, and turn opportunities into profitable customer relationships.

This is a visible leadership role with room to make a meaningful impact. The organization needs a grower who can set direction, coach people, and stay actively involved in helping the team win.

What You Will Do

• Lead, coach, and develop the customer sales team and sales manager, establishing clear expectations and accountability.
• Drive new customer acquisition, revenue growth, and profitability through a focused sales strategy.
• Identify target markets and customer opportunities, translating the growth plan into practical team priorities.
• Help advance significant opportunities through prospecting strategy, customer meetings, solution development, and negotiations.
• Partner with senior leadership on business planning, team development, market expansion, and sales performance.
• Collaborate with Account Management and operational leadership to ensure smooth customer transitions and delivery on commitments.
• Strengthen recruiting, onboarding, training, and sales processes as the organization grows.
• Use pipeline, conversion, revenue, and margin data to improve execution and results.

What You Bring

• Freight brokerage / 3PL experience is required , including direct experience selling transportation solutions to shippers.
• A demonstrated record of leading customer sales professionals, developing talent, and growing new business through a team.
• Strong knowledge of freight brokerage economics, pricing, customer needs, and profitable account development.
• The ability to work effectively with senior leaders and collaborate across sales, Account Management, and operations.
• Entrepreneurial drive, commercial judgment, and a hands-on approach to building and growing a business.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the credibility to engage customers and lead experienced salespeople.
• Experience using CRM and sales performance tools to manage the pipeline and improve results.
