Senior GIS/AWS Developer/Engineer Washington, DC – 100% Onsite Per Federal contract U.S. citizenship is required Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance W2 or C2C Application Deadline: 9/15 The Senior Application Developer/Engineer/Programmer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications within the AWS cloud environment and also on premises. This position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in full-stack software development, cloud-based application architecture, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient, scalable technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS services, ESRI geospatial technologies, and experience leveraging AI tools like Claude for development productivity. This role requires analytical skills, technical leadership, and experience working in Agile environments to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business and technical standards. Work Experience: • Software Development: Minimum 7 years of programmer/analyst experience developing software according to SDLCs with proven track record delivering complex applications • AWS & Modern Tools: Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with AWS services and modern web frameworks; experience with Angular, .Net, ECS, and Terraform • AI-Assisted Development: Experience using Claude or similar AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to enhance development productivity, code generation, and problem-solving • Geospatial Development: Experience with ESRI technologies (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, or similar, APIs) developing interactive maps and geocoding functionality • Technical Analysis: Strong analytical skills with experience in system analysis, design, and translating business requirements into technical solutions • Database Experience: Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database development, design, and optimization • Team Leadership: Experience providing technical direction and ensuring project deadlines are met Technical Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related IT field, or equivalent experience • Development Languages & Frameworks: o Strong programming skills o Proficiency in Angular for frontend development o Experience with modern web development practices • AWS & Infrastructure: o AWS services (ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway) o Terraform for Infrastructure as Code o Containerization with Docker and ECS o Understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns • AI Tools: o Experience using Claude for development tasks (code generation, debugging, documentation) o Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows o Experience with prompt engineering for development use cases • ESRI: ArcGIS platform, JavaScript API, geocoding services, spatial analysis, integration with AWS • DevOps & Tools: o GitLab for version control and CI/CD o Experience with GitLab pipelines o Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) • Proficiency in creating technical documentation (data flow diagrams, architecture documentation) • AWS certifications are a plus Key Responsibilities: • Analyze complex system requirements and design cloud-native software solutions in AWS • Develop and maintain geospatial applications using ESRI technologies (map creation, geocoding) • Leverage Claude and other AI tools to enhance development productivity and code quality • Work with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and ECS for containerized deployments • Write clean, efficient code following best practices and develop comprehensive documentation • Develop frontend applications using Angular • Manage software configuration in GitLab and optimize applications for cloud performance • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies • Conduct testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure quality • Support production systems and troubleshoot issues #M1 #LI-VH1 #LI-GW1 Ref: #851-Rockville-S1
