Quality Engineer

What to Expect This position will join the Quality Engineering Team at Gigafactory New York. The primary objective is to support the manufacturing of high-quality residential and commercialelectronics,electric vehicle charging systems. The successful candidate for this position must be a problem-solver and demonstrated leader, have a strong quality & customer-focused mindset, and have the personal drive and stamina for relentless, continuous improvement.
What You'll Do

• Create and maintain PFMEAs todeterminepotential risks in manufacturing process and drive resolution of high-risk issues into process controls

• Establish andmaintainControl Plans toensurecritical features are controlled andmonitoredthrough the assembly/production processes

• Establish criteria for Part Inspection Standards based on product specification and process critical requirements

• Develop and implement Quality Key Points for visual inspection that meets product specificationsusedin process inspections and quality audits

• Create schedule for regular audits and inspections to be performed by quality technicians across all product lines

• Review and provide disposition to non-conforming material and perform mechanical and electrical failure analysis on components and assemblies

• Lead containment activity on non-conforming material by determiningappropriate suspectrange to quarantine and provide disposition of material

• Track qualityperformance metrics from technician audits and organize regular reviews with all cross-functional stakeholders; prioritize top issues and drive continuous improvement activities

• Manage and improve ESD program for the site

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and implement changes

• Experience conducting PFMEAs for production processes

• Experience with broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques

• Experience in 6-Sigma

• Specific training anddemonstratedsuccess in applying quality problem solving methods, such as fishbone diagrams and/or 8D, and implementing successful countermeasures

• Strong quantitative and data analysis skills, including process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, and similar

• Experience in ISO-9001, QS-9000, ISO/TS/IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP is a plus

• Proficiencyin SQL, R, Minitab (or similar) is a plus

• Experience with power electronics is a plus

Expected Compensation

• Associate Quality Engineer - $75,600 - $113,400/annual salary
• Quality Engineer - $93,600 - $140,400/annual salary
• Sr Quality Engineer - $108,000 - $162,000/annual salary

+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
