Job Summary:The primary responsibility of the Welder is to fabricate and assemble metal structures and products through the use of welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools according to provided specifications. The Welder should also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:Use welding machines to assemble, repair, and maintain metal equipment and structures or various sizesRead and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine operations, required materials, and timeframes for projectsSet up, operate, and maintain welding and cutting equipmentLoad and unload equipment and supplies as directedClean and organize shop and other areas as requiredAdhere to applicable company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standardsEnsure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activitiesQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentApplicable welding certification(s) preferredMechanical experience or knowledge a plusAbility to use measurement tools and devicesSpecific Expectations:Ability to work effectively with othersAbility to multi-task in a changing environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirementsAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlinesStrong time management and organizational skillsRequires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkwardDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
