City/State: Harrisonburg, VA. Work Shift: Third (Nights). Overview Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for Level 2 Nursery in the Family Birthplace department. Sign on bonus up to $20,000 with no commitment or contract required. Education & Credentials Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing (Required) Registered Nurse License (Required) Experience Previous acute care nursing experience (Preferred) Program Details Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program – welcoming new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty. The tracks of the WH TTP program focus on orientation and transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in: Labor & Delivery (L&D) – 14 weeks Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum (LDRP) – 16 weeks Antepartum – 12 weeks Mother/Baby – 12 weeks Nursery – 12 weeks For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support transition to practice. Program includes: Formal delivery of fundamental WH nursing concepts and standards via Perinatal Orientation and Education Program (POEP) modules blended with in-person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs. Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines as recommended by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses. Hands‑on experience in WH alongside a trained nurse preceptor. Opportunity to share experiences and network with peers in a safe, protected environment. Series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses).
