As an Environmental Engineer, you will perform the following duties:Project Review: Evaluate engineering plans, funding applications, feasibility studies, and contract documents for wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, and non point source projectsProgram Coordination: Work with PENNVEST partners, applicants, and staff to support project planning, ranking, funding, and compliance needsData Management: Maintain accurate program records and ensure entries meet quality standards across DEP electronic systemsTechnical Guidance: Provide direction on federal requirements such as AIS and BABA and assist with policy and procedure developmentField Oversight: Conduct site inspections, review change orders, and confirm that projects meet technical and regulatory expectationsKnowledge Sharing: Participate in training, workgroups, studies, and knowledge transfer activities that support statewide program improvementInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.This position requires travel within the region and to other counties when needed.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Meadville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years as an Environmental Engineering Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orFour years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; orThree years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; orThree years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering.Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.Conditions of Employment:This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.Other Requirements:PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.You must be able to perform essential job functions.How to Apply:Resumes, cover letters, and similar documents will not be reviewed, and the information contained therein will not be considered for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the position.
