Job DescriptionUW Medical Center-Northwest - Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning has an outstanding opportunity for a Rotating Shift (days and nights) Registered Nurse .WORK SCHEDULE36 hours per week3x12 shift scheduleMust be available to work a rotating mix of day shifts (7:00am-7:30pm) and night shifts (7:00pm-7:30am)DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning supports a wide range of individuals, including general acute care patients, telemetry monitoring patients, and patients with multiple behavioral health comorbidities.We have 50 beds split between two floors. This position will specifically work on our third floor, which has 25 beds.Our patients receive holistic treatment, addressing their physical, medical, and mental health needs.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvide medical-surgical care to behavioral health patients, including those with psychiatric comorbiditiesEnsure patient safety protocols are followed, including restraint protocolsAdminister oral and injectable medicationsMonitor vital signs using telemetry equipmentAssess and manage painProvide education and discharge instructions to patients and their familiesProvide personalized care with compassion, dignity, and respectREQUIREMENTS1 year of recent medical-surgical RN work experienceActive BLSActive licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington StateABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWESTUW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
