Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Nights RN - Exciting Opportunity in Neurology & Neurosurgery - Shift: Nights, 3x12s; 36 hrs/week - Required to float to multiple campuses - Local Radius Rule: Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility - Employee Separation Policy: Past employees cannot work travel in another Market within 12 months - Holiday Rotation: Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) Unit Information: - Bed Size: 25 beds - Patient Types: Heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, ortho - RN Ratios: 1:5 - 6 Key Responsibilities: - Administer drips including Heparin, PCA's, and 3% Sodium (no titration) - Utilize telemetry and specialty equipment (chest tubes, airvo) Candidate Requirements: - 24 months of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting - Neurology/neurosurgery care experience required - Ortho/orthopedic care experience required - Trauma care experience highly preferred - EPIC EMR experience required - No first-time travelers; at least one previous travel assignment within the last 12 months - EKG/Strip reading and telemetry experience required - De-escalation certificate preferred (CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted) - Trauma level I experience highly preferred Profile Requirements: - Current work history/resume with 24 months of relevant experience - Skills checklist specific to the discipline (Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care) - Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate at time of submission - Professional reference from within the last 24 months (charged/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO) - Valid Driver's License - AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS ACLS - AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS BLS - NIHSS certification preferred (can be obtained during onboarding) Why BHS Workforce (BHS): At BHS, we connect dedicated nurses and allied health clinicians with the best assignments across the country.
