Position Title: Multifamily Estimator Location: Birmingham, AL Clearance Requirements: None Pay Rate: $135,000.00 (Annual Salary) Position Description Join a reputable construction company as a Multifamily Estimator in Birmingham, Alabama, and play a vital role in shaping the future of residential development. This full-time, on-site opportunity offers the chance to lead estimating efforts for multifamily, mixed-use, and senior living projects. As a key member of the preconstruction team, you will develop accurate project budgets, conduct conceptual and hard-bid estimates, and collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure profitable project delivery. Your expertise will directly contribute to the company's growth and success in the Southeast region. Top Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field 3–5+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience, specifically in multifamily or residential projects Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Experience with conceptual estimating, value engineering, and mentoring junior estimators Preferred Skills and Experience Skilled in Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Sage Estimating, Procore, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project Knowledge of local subcontractor and supplier markets in Birmingham and the broader Southeast region Experience working for a general contractor specializing in multifamily housing, mixed-use, or senior living developments What Success Looks Like Delivering accurate, competitive project estimates that align with client budgets and company goals Identifying cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and procurement strategies Building strong relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to support project success Mentoring and supporting junior estimators and fostering a collaborative preconstruction environment About the Opportunity This is an outstanding chance to join a well-established construction firm with a robust pipeline of multifamily projects across the Southeast.
