As a Field Engineer, you will develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and join us in supporting wireless network survey and testing projects across the United States. You will perform field data collection, coverage validation, and signal measurements across indoor and outdoor wireless environments, including WiFi, LTE, and 5G networks.Responsibilities As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for performing wireless field surveys, collecting RF data, and documenting network coverage and site conditions. In addition, you will:Prepare, configure, and maintain wireless survey equipment, battery packs, test devices, and field testing gearPerform active and passive wireless data collection using indoor walk-test and outdoor drive-test methodsConduct WiFi surveys utilizing Ekahau and other field testing toolsRead and navigate building floor plans while accurately identifying your location during field surveysIdentify access points, antennas, physical landmarks, and building features on floor plansDocument wall types, structural materials, obstacles, and other environmental factors that may impact RF signal attenuation and coveragePerform signal verification, latency, connectivity, and coverage testingInspect cabling, equipment mounting, enclosures, labels, and other installation conditions against project documentationCapture site photographs, mark up floor plans, and complete field survey documentationOrganize, label, and export field test logs for post-processing and engineering teamsIdentify and communicate RF anomalies, equipment issues, site-access concerns, and other field conditions to project leadershipQualifications About You: You have a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree in Electronics, Technology, Telecommunications, Networking, or a related field is preferred. You have 1-3 years of experience in RF field testing, drive testing, wireless surveys, telecom field services, technical site auditing, cable/network installation, or a related technical field. You have a basic understanding of wireless/RF concepts, including signal strength, interference, coverage, frequency bands, antennas, and signal attenuation. You are comfortable reading and navigating architectural or building floor plans. Previous WiFi survey or Ekahau experience is preferred, but not required. You are comfortable using handheld test equipment, mobile applications, laptops, battery systems, and other field testing equipment. You have basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, PDF annotation tools, and mapping or survey applications. You are able to walk approximately 8-10 miles per day, stand for extended periods, and carry approximately 10-15 lbs. of test equipment. You are willing and able to travel 100% within the U.S., and remain away from home for extended project assignments as needed. You have a valid REAL ID-compliant driver's license. U.S. citizenship is required due to customer/site access requirements. You have strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills. You are adaptable and comfortable working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.Hard work pays off.
