That shapes how we run things. We try to match you with clients close to where you live. We tell you honestly about each case before you accept it. And we pick up the phone when you need us, day or night.

What you’ll do:

• Your assignments are matched to your skills and experience and follow each client’s plan of care. Depending on the client, you’ll:
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Help with daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, getting around, and safe transfers
• Prepare and serve meals, and help with eating when needed
• Give medication reminders
• Keep the home tidy: vacuuming, dusting, wiping down the kitchen, sweeping and mopping, straightening bathrooms, laundry, and changing linens
• Drive clients to doctor’s appointments, errands, shopping and outings
• Follow infection-control practices and the client’s plan of care
• Watch for changes in your client’s condition and report them to the office
• Clock in and out on time and document every visit
• Communicate clearly with clients and our office team

What we’re looking for:

• A warm, dependable person with great people skills
• Caregiving or home care experience is a plus, but not required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance if your assignments include driving clients
• Able to lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs; help clients move and transfer safely; and stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Able to pass a fingerprint background check under the Illinois Health Care Worker Background Check Act (or hold a waiver)
• Authorized to work in the United States
